Last year, I got these rainbow pride bracelets and wore them everywhere. It was a very small step compared to what I can and should do to support what I believe in, but I was happy with it.
Maybe a month or two after I started wearing them, someone told me that the company that I bought them from failed to support queers of color and were borderline 'racist'.
I took them off. I never wore them again. I was ashamed that I knew too little.
I am still learning. I think its the best thing to do.
