Friday

And now we just wait.

John Mayer is five days away.

Thats five days too far away =(

So today I started thinking about Music, and other random things.
I wouldn't call myself a collector, but I'm def a hoarder. I like having things. Mostly useless things. (eat your heart out phixius ;p) I like having hats and scarves and earrings and movie ticket stubs and action figures and photographs and cologne and the class signs from school and pretty much every note we ever passed or wrote and SHOES!! I hoard a lot of things actually. I don't necessarily have to actually USE any of them, I just like HAVING them. I know, it sounds like I am so incredibly materialistic. Maybe I am.;)

I started collecting music a long time ago. I think I was eight when I bought my first ever cd. It was the Millenium Backstreet Boys CD.(who are still legitlegit so don't hate). My mom bought me a bright blue little boombox, aqua (yes, i still name all my electronics). That boombox pretty much sealed the deal and I started buying CD's like a crazy woman. =)

I know that we're pretty much in the twilight zone right now; cds are becoming obsolete. That's pretty depressing. Today I talked to someone who has NEVER had a CD, or bought legitimate music. NEVER!! ( You Deprived Little Boy, I'm buying you a CD this weekend for sure =) )I still remember every word of every song on that first Basckstreet Boys Cd. And every time I happen to hear 'I Want it That Way' on the radio,'Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely' pops into my head at the very end because thats what the next track was on the CD. Crazy? Maybe a Little bit =)

I was obsessed for a couple years at least. When we moved to India, my mom only let me take 50 of my fav CDs with us. Some hoebag *&%#$$%*^&%# cut our suitcase open and stole alllll of them so that sucked. I cried.
I remember spending HOURS outside in that little cane swing with my walkman, Forte. Compared to america, it was so much easier for me to get music. My mother dearest bought me one cd every two weeks. Between her and the rest of my family, I started acquiring close to 6 or 7 cds a month. =) Those were the BEST times. Sometimes I would go the musicworld and discover that I already owned all the artists that I knew. So I would buy random music. I discovered strings, alanis morisette, ravi shankar, OMG DAVE MATTHEWS, david guetta, LUCKY ALI, keane, michael buble, COLDPLAYCOLDPLAYCOLDPLAY, finger eleven, dashboard, MISTER MRAZ(!!!!).

Like i said, Good times =)

I can pretty much identify every phase of my life in relation to the type of music i was listening to(haha and probably a boy =P) Like when my mom got married? pop/punk and some acoustic gwen stefani, busted, avril lavigne, bbmack, 3 doors down, three days grace, matchbox 20, shayne ward.
Tenth grade board exams? dashboard, deathcab, the cure, radiohead, beck, muse, puddle of mudd, finger eleven, trapt, the used, BLINK182!!!, saosin, anberlin, chevelle, taking back sunday, alter bridge, creed, straylight run, neutral milk hotel,(=D thanks vinny). (care to guess the boys? =P)

I used to be obsessive. I couldn't take the idea of someone else telling ME about music that I hadn't heard haha.(esp you skinny) Music was like my religion and lastfm was my place of worship =)
I'm not like that anymore lolz. Somewhere along the way, I stopped listening to music like it was my alphacure. Maybe thats a travesty, or maybe its a good thing because I stopped hoarding music just because the idea of 'having it' didn't excite me as much

Anyway, I'm going to stop now. I'm sitting outside and blogging on my Ipod and I feel incredibly awkward because I keep accidentally startling people.
So this was a pretty bullshit-esque post. I realize this. Too bad though =)
I had major writers block doingessays, so I thought I would just blog and let it floowww.

anyway, since you're amazing and wonderful and you read all the way to the bottom of this post, i'll tell you the point.
The point is,
John Mayer and One Republic are five days away.
orgasmic isn't it? I know.
=)
Who needs anti-depressants when we can have yummy John Mayer and Ryan Tedder?
